Protect goods in storage using INTERCEPT® technology!

For the first time, SSI SCHAEFER is developing and manufacturing extruded containers with the award-winning and highly regarded INTERCEPT® technology.

This means the intralogistics specialist is allowing users to protect goods against corrosion during transport, shipment and storage under extreme conditions  − and at the same time reduce process costs and offer the highest of green credentials.

The internationally patented INTERCEPT® technology was developed to protect virtually any material in all climatic conditions and environmental influences. The long-term effect of this technology has been proven in various applications for over 20 years, and was awarded the 6th German Hazardous Goods Protection prize. In addition to their excellent protective effect, INTERCEPT® products do not emit any chemical gases, are can be recycled, and meet all work safety requirements. SSI Schaefer has now utilised this technology and anti-corrosion method for the first time in the manufacture of injection moulded containers.

The principle behind this combination is as simple as it is effective, and allows goods to be protected effectively against destructive corrosion. This is regardless of whether the goods are being transported and stored by sea, air or surface methods. The solution has proven to be a long-term application with a guaranteed effectiveness of up to 15 years with the security of meeting legal requirements for product labelling.

Function: The underlying environmentally-friendly technology consists of highly porous copper particles embedded into a polymer matrix. These react with the corrosive gases in the atmosphere and neutralise them. This means that unlike traditional processes NO artificial atmosphere is generated, only a neutral atmosphere. Even penetrating humidity is freed of corrosive elements. This reduces the load in the atmosphere and ensures better protection for employees, even with direct contact. Parts no longer need to be preserved, for example by oiling them, whether these are loose goods or goods with a high air volume. This means that containers utilising the INTERCEPT® technology designed specifically for multiple usage, in addition to proven effectiveness even in extreme usage and storage conditions, simplify the process and achieve considerable savings in terms of processing costs.

In addition to moulded containers, SSI-Schaefer also supplies vacuum-formed inserts and fabricated inserts with INTERCEPT® technology in line with your technical requirements for load carriers.
